Agreement to Terms
By accepting a quotation or engaging our services, the Client enters into a binding agreement with Voltage Electrical Services (UK) Ltd (“the Contractor”) and agrees to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
Booking and Commencement
Work will only be scheduled once materials and a deposit equal to 10% of the agreed labour cost has been paid and cleared.
Minimum Labour Charge
A minimum labour charge of £80.00 + VAT applies to all services, regardless of the scope or duration.
Waste Removal
Voltage Electrical Services (UK) Ltd does not hold a waste carrier licence. The Client is responsible for disposing of all waste materials generated during the works, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Cable Installations
Where cables are installed within walls, plaster bonding only will be carried out by the Contractor and is chargeable as an additional item, agreed with the Client prior to the works.
Liability and Site Access
We are not liable for any damage to furniture, fittings, or equipment that must be moved to complete the works. The Client must ensure clear access and protection of surrounding areas.
Variations and Additional Work
Any work not specifically outlined in the original quotation shall be deemed additional. All variations must be agreed in writing by both parties before being carried out.
Delays and Disruption
In the event of delays caused by the Client, other trades, or poor site coordination, we reserve the right to charge a daily rate to cover associated costs and labour downtime.
Payment Terms
A 60% interim payment of labour is due immediately upon completion of the first fix.
The final balance is due upon completion of works unless alternative terms have been agreed in writing.
For larger projects, progressive invoices will be issued weekly every Friday unless the project completes earlier.
Late payments may incur interest under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998, charged at 8% above the Bank of England base rate.
Certification
Upon receipt of full payment, electrical test certificates will be issued in PDF format within ten (10) working days. Postal requests may take longer.
Guarantees and Warranty
Labour is guaranteed for 6 years from completion, in accordance with NICEIC Platinum Promise.
Materials and components are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty (typically 1–2 years).
This guarantee excludes damage due to misuse, third-party interference, or lack of maintenance.
Quotation Validity
All quotations are valid for 30 days from the date issued unless otherwise stated.
Health and Contagious Illness Policy
The Client must inform Voltage Electrical Services (UK) Ltd in advance if anyone at the property, or expected to be present during the works, is unwell with a contagious illness (including but not limited to cold, flu, COVID-19, or similar conditions).
If notification is not provided prior to attendance and the Contractor arrives to find that a contagious illness is present, the Contractor reserves the right to postpone the works and a charge equal to the daily labour rate may be applied to cover the lost working day.
This policy is in place to protect the health and safety of our engineers and to minimise disruption to other scheduled clients.
Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
